| Our Kindergarten Teachers |

'Our' fifty kindergarten teachers come to Dili in their school holidays to participate in professional development. They train at the Cannossian Kindergarten in Comoro under the supervision of Sr Aurora Pires. Because the teachers are all employed during term time, the training must take place during school holidays. The kindergarten teachers undergoing professional development are mainly women, including some Catholic Nuns. They come from all over Timor Leste, but mainly from Districts in the west of Timor Leste. They teach at 12 different kindergartens and between them are teaching over 1200 children. Most of these teachers have had little prior training as a kindergarten teacher, and are themselves only educated to primary level. The trainers include:
